It's a Boy!!

We went for our ultrasound appointment yesterday and everything looked healthy and on track. I was really relieved about that, especially with all the other stresses that have come with this pregnancy. The ultrasound tech made sure we wanted to find out the gender, to which we responded "of course." Then she continued to show us a shot of the baby and asked "Do you know what that is?" Neither of us could make sense of the fuzzy picture, so she told us "It's a penis!" So apparently we are having a penis (a.k.a. a boy as we had to remind Jocelyn).

Jocelyn had been alternating between wanting a baby sister and a baby brother but now she is very excited for a boy. She kept telling me today "thanks for having a baby boy in your tummy, he's really going to love us (meaning her and Lillian)!" She has also picked out two names for us to choose from: Geo & Bot. I have a feeling we will branch out from those two names a little :) Lillian doesn't quite get the whole thing, but was trying to play peekaboo with the baby since his little hands were in front of his face then he took them down for part of the ultrasound. A boy will add a little balance to our family since Jared is quite outnumbered right now.

We are, mostly, moved in to our new place and now we need to figure out things like library time, swim lesson offerings and continue to get to know people at church. We were living in such a quiet place before where we would never hear a train, rarely a siren and hardly ever hear cars drive by. Now we hear all of the above, quite frequently, but it is nice having a third bedroom, especially with the new baby coming. Jared has been keeping busy at work, but is amazing accomplishing the "honey do lists" I've created while unpacking during the day. I am finally over the major nausea, just experiencing little waves of it during the day and still taking a nap most days. We are doing well and looking forward to a hot summer in Morgan Hill!
