Baby Bundle & Mouse sighting

I thought I'd post a couple pictures that my friend Liz took for us when Emma was 3 days old.  She is now doing tons better with nursing and just refuses to burp which makes her a little gassy/fussy at night, especially, but we are definitely enjoying her!

She curls up in a little ball and tucks her legs by her which is too cute!  She also holds up her head really well and has been able to since day 1.

Jonas is content to "hug" Emma a couple times a day with assistance and then he'll softly touch her feet and say "I touch baby's feet", then "I touch baby's head", then if she's moving her arms he says: "Baby touch my face!" and gets a huge grin.  I love watching them interact because she seems to really look at him.  Jonas is also doing really well at saying our family prayers before bedtime and mealtime.  He is assisted, of course, but he really likes being a part of it all which is fun to watch.

Lilly asked me the other night: "Why do you keep kissing her so much?"  to which Jared replied "Mom carried her around for 9 mos in her tummy, she can do whatever she wants with the baby!"  Lillian also told me: "I just can't stop saying how cute she is!!  She is just too cute!" Lilly did awesome with her spoken part during the primary program.  She had memorized her line and stood right up and said it during the microphone from the reports I heard.  I was home with a new baby and a sick Jocelyn!

Jocelyn unfortunately had to miss out on her last soccer game, pizza party for end of season, and the primary program because she caught the flu this last weekend.  We also had to cancel dinner with my aunt & uncle and keep her quarantined to make sure it didn't spread to the baby which she was NOT happy about.  Jocelyn is sure improving with her reading which is exciting to see.  She is pretty proud of herself but gets tired and has to take breaks after I help her read a couple books.  I'm sure it's a brain workout!

We are looking forward to Jared's family coming into town this weekend and staying through Thanksgiving!

We also found evidence in the form of mouse poop and TWO sightings of a mouse running through the kitchen this weekend that we have some invaders.  We have set up multiple forms of mouse traps and are hoping to catch a couple before our company arrives.  Wish us luck!

  1. Emma is WAY too cute.
So glad she's nursing well- and we commiserate completely on the gas situation! We're giving Miles probiotic drops and it's helping.

    Hope Turkey Day was grand!
    XOXO
