Welcoming Kelsey Home

The kids tackling aunt Kelsey
So at the end of April we were lucky enough to be at airport to welcome my baby sister home from her 18 month mission in Brazil. It really felt like she had been gone for 3 years, let's be honest!  The kids each decorated their own poster to hold up (I may have helped write the letters) and I was crying even before she came down the escalator. We were so excited to be able to spend a long weekend with her at my parent's house. We were able to go shopping: There is nothing quite like having your sister shop with you and tell you honestly what looks good/bad and helping you find some sweet deals :)

Jared and I were able to go on a lunch date since my mom and Kelsey were willing to watch the kiddos for us. Kelsey, Jared and I went to a session at the Sacramento Temple, we had some ice cream sundaes and dinner with family friends.  The next week Kelsey and my mom came down to our house for a short stay so we could show her our new house and she was kind enough to help me drop off the girls at school (Of course I wasn't allowed to get out of the car...only aunt Kelsey could walk them to their classes).

We obviously didn't let her get far from us!!

It was also "Mormon Helping Hands" Day that Saturday which means all over Northern CA LDS congregations find service opportunities in their local communities.  We were able to help clean up the local park around the corner from my parent's house with their congregation.  It was great to see the kids working hard.
