Easter 2014

Emma Easter morning ready for church
Happy Easter!! Only 5 weeks late (or more)...I can't remember!  Anyhow...We had a great Easter (mostly)  The kids had a 4 day weekend which rocked so we were able to relax a little and for Easter dinner we had grilled cheese and tomato soup because Jared was prepping for his colonoscopy the next day and had to drink the nasty juice (which apparently tasted like rotten carrots).  We were hoping to go to my aunt and uncle's house but wanted to stay and support him so I was off the hook for cooking. Stay tuned about the results of the colonoscopy (that requires a post of its own).

On Good Friday the kids attend a church primary activity where they had "resurrection rolls," pictures with the Easter Bunny (which quite literally was a bunny. I was fooled when I saw the advertisement, as were other parents. LOL!), an egg hunt finding pictures of Jesus during the last week of his life, etc. We took our neighbors with us to join in the fun then had them over afterward to dye Easter eggs at our house, along with some other friends.

The Easter Bunny came a day early to our house because he knew we had early church on Sunday and wanted to play with all the fun stuff on Saturday :)  The kids came up with the idea to write last minute letters to the Easter Bunny (like they do for Santa) so this is what they came up with.  Jonas dictated his letter to me...

As usual, the Easter Bunny left tracks all over giving hints as to where he had hidden the baskets.  The kids got things to prepare them for summer fun and Jonas was so generous to share the mustaches he had received in his basket.

On Easter morning the kids wore coordinating outfits I had managed to put together (re-purposing the dresses they wore for uncle Brian's wedding) and they looked cute but obviously not everyone was thrilled to take pictures. The ones from JCPenney turned out even worse...
