Memorial day
Once we finished up the sun room flooring project, we celebrated Memorial day with a couple families having a BBQ at our friend's house. Here are all the kiddos (minus Emma throwing a fit at my feet) in their patriotic get-up. And here are the CA branch of Otterstrom cousins.

As I mentioned previously, we took advantage of the termite Memorial day deal and had the house tented the following weekend. Here it is in all it's glory!! I texted my neighbor as we were leaving and told her "enjoy the circus while it is in the neighborhood!" Another friend was coming to drop something off and texted me when she saw the tent "Caitlyn, even I think that is a little extreme for taking care of lice!! HAHA" Hopefully that took care of every bug we have been dealing with! To kill some time after we were out of the house we met a friend of mine for walking, had lunch at another friend's house, visited a 3rd friend who was running a garage sale and then spent the afternoon at the Rec Center pool. We finished up the evening swimming at Greg & Maren's pool and eating some little caesars pizza and crashing at their house for the night. We left to Dixon the next day to spend my Dad's birthday and Jared's birthday weekend there.

Hairstyle night
As part of the spring fundraiser for the girl's school (due to some arm twisting from the mom in charge) I offered a "Hair Do" instructional night for moms and their girls. There were two different "hair parties" where we had put together baskets of helpful tools and products for each mom/girl and I taught them some hair do tips and tricks and especially focused on hairdos for the braiding impaired. It was a lot of fun in the end and hopefully the all went home with some valuable skills!

Celebrated Jared's 35th birthday!
We failed a little bit with Jared's birthday since we were just arriving home from Dixon and gearing up for the last 4 days of school which are always busy with parties, extra commitments, etc. Here is everyone with his chocolate ice cream.
One weekend that we were actually in town we took the kids to the Home Depot Kids craft and even Emma is getting old enough to participate. The kids always enjoy it and they are really earning a lot of pins since we have been doing this year after year. That same day we also went to a local historical anniversary at the Machado school and watched some tribal dancing, made some crafts and learned about some 4H projects.

The last day of school ended up being a bit rainy so we met up with friends at the Children's Discovery Museum for a fun outing since swimming was a bit out of the question. That weekend we put together our summer bucket list and have been enjoying the late bedtimes, daily popsicles and rest that the summer is providing!!
