Over the long weekend in October, Jared's sisters and I decided to take our kids up to Logan to stay in my Grammy's cabin and enjoy the Pumpkin Walk, the duck pond at First Dam, Aggie Ice Cream and playing at Aunt Lori's house. It was such a great quick getaway and cousin get-together. Logan is beautiful in the Fall! A couple weekends later Jocelyn, Emma and I went up to Logan again to help host a bridal shower for Kelsey and to assist Tausha taking the engagement photos for Kelsey and Josh. My mom was even able to come into town for a long weekend to be there for the bridal shower and to spend some time with us. It was so fun to see her! The bridal shower turned out lovely in every regard. Everyone was so generous and it was so fun to see all the ladies on my Dad's side of the family. They are such exemplary women and I love to catch up with them. Jonas and Lillian both had games that were going to be tough to miss so we decided to divide and conquer! They stayed home with Jared and went to Leatherby's and stake conference.

We decided to combine our turn with hosting Sunday Dinner for Jared's family with our annual Spooktaular Dinner, Emma's Birthday and Jonas's Birthday. Everyone was such good sports to dress up on Halloween Eve with us! To celebrate Emma's birthday the day of, she had Preschool so we sent little gift bags to all her friends there then went to Zupa's as a family for dinner since her favorite thing to eat is their Cauliflower soup. Jonas chose to go to pizza studio and had playdates before and after school with his friends. Of course, they both were spoiled with Breakfast in Bed. I cannot believe they are getting so big!

For Family Home evening activity one night we went to a local pumpkin patch. It was pretty disappointing after all our years at Uesugi's in Morgan Hill :( I told the kids they had to be able to carry their own pumpkins (which I figured would limit the size, price and furthermore, the pain of carving). They had a hay bale ride, some tractors and a small corn maze which was fun.

I finally finished one corner of the Bonus room: A Kids Reading nook. Thanks to my mom and SIL Tausha for helping me make the sign and the cushions, and of course Jared's handy shelves. I am pretty excited about it! We got our first snow of the season. It was so magical to wake up to this scene in our backyard. For Thanksgiving we joined Jared's mom's family for a delicious meal where 60 people were there to share and partake! Even though none of Jared's siblings were there, the kids have second cousins around their age so it worked out fine. The day before Thanksgiving we also hosted a Thanksgiving craft and playdate with our friends from CA who have also moved to UT. It had been a while since getting together.

The day after Thanksgiving we put up our Christmas decorations which was a little tricky in a new house...And Jared even put lights up on the house. We are feeling very festive! We also were able to host the Kauffmans for dinner. I grew up with Jessica and we got married the same year as she and Dave so our kids are all very close in age. It was so fun to have them come over while they were in town visiting family.
