My brother, Nate, was married to Tausha Sutherland in the Twin Falls temple at the end of the July and we had the pleasure of joining in the festivities. My girls have been looking forward to this for months and have been more than thrilled that they were asked to be "flower girls" for the event along with their cousin and the bride's little sister. Jocelyn even made a paper chain leading up to the wedding to count down the days. My mom busted out her sewing skills to modify all the dresses and they were darling!
It was just our luck that the morning of the wedding Lillian threw up and Jocelyn had it coming out the other end all day. At the reception alone I had to give her a bath at one point and change her panties at another point because she didn't make it to the toilet in time. The poor things tried to enjoy the event, but were a little tragic during all the picture taking. I believe they ruined most pictures we tried to make them participate in, even though my Aunt bailed us out by bribing them with some candy. You can't win them all, right?
Nate & Tausha looked fabulous and seemed very happy. The ceremony was very nice, the family dinner following the wedding was delicious and the reception was a lot of fun. Tausha's family hosted both the dinner and reception at their house in Kimberly, Idaho and between the dessert bar and live band, we all had an enjoyable time. The funniest and most typical "Nate" part was that he and Tausha kept saying they were going to make their wedding cake together. Apparently this was just a ploy to get everyone off their back about having a wedding cake because neither of them wanted to the the traditional "shove the cake in your face" bit. Even the day before the wedding they were saying "Oh yeah, we finished the cake, it's ready to go" but lo and behold there was no actual cake the night of the reception. I thought it was pretty comical and so completely them! Congrats to Nate & Tausha-enjoy your cruise in Mexico!
Sounds like a lot of fun, especially the throwing up and being sick part of it;) We didn't have a cake either, we were just like them in that way!
ReplyDeletetoo bad your girls were sick but i'm so glad everything else went well!! looks like you had lots of fun during your trip to utah. SO SAD we didn't catch you before you left. :( happy birthday to lillian! she is a cutie. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat story! My favorite picture has to be the last one all the girls and boys together, and your daughters making THE best faces ever (even though I do feel bad they weren't feeling tops).

Yay for Nate! That is so exciting! That pictures of most of the kids crying was hilarious! It made me laugh. That brought back memories of Brandon's family's pictures with all the grandkids. 20 grandkids all around grandma and grandpa and about 60 percent of them were crying (mine included...and probably the loudest because he had to go to the bathroom:). So so funny! Congrats Nate. All your little nieces and nephews are darling. Emily's oldest looks just like her. Crazy!
