Kids with Uncle Greg: This is the Place Monument
Anderson Girls Night Out
I'm finally getting around to posting about our 2 week family vacation to Idaho & Utah to visit family. We had such a fun time seeing friends and family and getting thoroughly exhausted staying in several different places and driving non-stop! The girls were really great travelers and we are thankful we were able to make it safe and sound! We began the trip in Logan, UT which always brings good memories since that is where Jared and I dated and were married. We stayed at my sister's house and had an informal Anderson reunion with my family. We played games, did a girls night out, took the kids to the aquatics center, went to Toy Story 3 and ate plenty of ice cream! All the cousins seemed to have fun hanging out.
We spent time with some of my Dad's family and while visiting Grammy's cabin Lillian was most alarmed by the mountain goat that is hanging above the fireplace. She kept calling it a donkey and every time someone new would come in the door, she would inform them that a “donkey was stuck in the wall” and kept asking the uncles to take it down. Nate put on a good show “trying” to get the donkey down by jumping up toward it and Jocelyn came up with an idea that they could throw a rope up there to rescue it, but to no avail. For days afterward Lillian told anyone and everyone she could about the poor “donkey”!
Jared, being the good sport he is, fit in several days of work between all the traveling and adventures and was able to get in a couple good bike rides with brothers and brothers-in law while also sitting out on some of our other day trips and adventures. Jared and I were able to do a session at the Twin Falls temple, go on a date to the movies and see all of our siblings.
While visiting the Otterstroms the girls loved the amazing backyard with a trampoline, playground, chickens, etc. and in between playing in the backyard we took fieldtrips nearly every day going to the Mrs. Fields’ factory, the Wild West days at This is the Place monument, Kennecott mines, swimming, etc. All the girls in the family (including my mom and Kelsey who came to town) went out to dinner for a baby shower for our new little one. The Wild West days were awesome! The kids seemed to have a great time panning for gold and trading it in at the “bank”, making sand art, pony rides, attending an 1800s school house, visiting the Indian village, going to the petting zoo and taking tours of the old log cabins.
On a side note: Jared still seems pretty set on naming the baby Jonas, Jocelyn and Lillian consistently call him “geo” and I have yet to know what I think about names! I think boy names are harder, that’s what I think! We are in the midst of swimming lessons for Jocelyn, and signed up for dance class and preschool for the fall. Lillian is binky-free and trying to go the bathroom on the potty now and then. That is the latest and greatest from our neck of the woods!
That's sounds like lots of fun! Miss you guys.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys have been having a lot of fun! Nate looks happy! Congrats on the binky! That is a tough. You look cute prego. I know you probably don't feel that way, but you look great. I think Jonas is a cute name. Good luck deciding!
ReplyDeleteThose matching polk-a-dot dresses are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI like Jonas. Geo is unique! Where did they get that idea from?!?!
