I really haven't had to face life head on alone with 3 kids yet. We've been so spoiled to have my mom here helping and Jared's mom here helping, friends offering rides to preschool, dinners brought in by some friends from church, etc. This week I will really find out what it's all about, I guess. The crazy thing to me is that when I am holding my little baby it seems that pregnancy, labor & delivery are ALL worth it. Almost instantaneously all the horrible morning sickness, veins, weight gain, discomfort, pain and tears are worth having a little baby in my arms. How does that work?
Jonas is a very easy going baby and I feel so spoiled! The good thing is that I can actually appreciate what an easy baby he is because I have two to compare him to. He is pretty consistent about needing to nurse every 3 hours and it seems he ALWAYS has a poopy diaper, but those are easy to cope with. I am really enjoying every moment with this little guy because I'm not as overwhelmed as I was when I had Jocelyn, and we aren't moving and having Jared start a new job, like when Lillian was 3 weeks old. We have zero plans for the next little while, including Thanksgiving so we will be able to adjust to this new little member of our family.
I think Jonas is slightly doomed...When he was 1 week old the girls had their princess tent set up, with dance music playing and insisted that their "prince" needed to come in the tent with them. I set him inside on a soft blanket and they just loved having him a part of their activities. They have pushed him around in their doll stroller (under close supervision) and they love to "pet" his hair and talk to him in a baby voice. They constantly talk about how he is going to dance with them when he gets big enough and he's joined them for 2 picnics that we've had in our backyard for lunch. Oh, the life of a baby brother!
What a sweet little guy he is. I'm so glad things are going so well for you guys and that you get to enjoy it all. Miss you.

ReplyDeleteHe is such a cute boy! I am so happy. New babies are such an adjustment and a physical and mental change, but so SO worth it. I can already see how much happiness he has brought your whole family! I'm glad you have help and time to enjoy him. I want to meet him someday soon. Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear that your girls all ready have plans for Jonas. It is the same around here. Gotta love it when I walk into the room and one of the kids has put it in their mind that the baby is going to play with them. Oh the joys. So fun.
