Happy Birthday Jocelyn & trip to Gilroy Gardens

We also celebrated Jocelyn's 7th birthday recently.  She was in planning mode for the entire month before and had her day mapped out to the minute.  Jared took her on a grocery shopping trip for her "date" one night and she got to pick out her sugar cereal, convinced Jared she needed a "lunchable" for her birthday lunch (since I would be teaching preschool and unable to bring her some Taco Bell as she requested), she wanted a cookies & cream cake for home, pink cake pops to take to her class, breakfast in bed, etc.  Since our neighbor had so generously given us his Gilroy Gardens employee tickets she wanted to go there as a family and invited my parents to join us.  We had a fun weekend and I think she was thrilled with everything in the end!

Gilroy Gardens was beautiful and since the kids had just been there a couple months ago they knew what rides they wanted (and didn't want) to go on.  My dad had never been before so we took him around to see almost everything.  He picked up the guide to know where to find the circus trees and then took a nap on a shaded bench near the entrance while we finished up taking kids to the little kids ride area.  We met up with our neighbors who have a season pass and a little girl Jocelyn's age for a little while at the beginning and then ran into a little boy who is in Jonas' preschool class and his family for the last little while.  Overall a lot of fun and us adults were completely wiped out! I barely had enough energy to make it over to the Relief Society General broadcast that evening.
