Spring Break and Beyond

Leading up to spring break we celebrated St. Patrick's day by making leprechaun traps, having lucky charms for breakfast, dressing up in green, having a green dinner and joining some friends for a leprechaun hunt and lunch (for the youngers).  We went to lunch at my friend Alycia Nelson's house.  We have known each other since kindergarten and it was so fun to see her and check out the property she and her husband have taken on!  It has been years since we caught up and the kiddos had fun together.

We had a laid back General Conference weekend. I don't know if I was just feeling cooped up after being home with sicknesses or maybe it was the fact I started my period that day or something, but I stood up in between sessions on Saturday and said "I am going for a drive if anyone is coming with me."  Jared was tossing kids and shoes out the front door while I walked up to the car and started honking when I saw them playing in the sand box instead of making their way to the car.  It must have been a hilarious scene for any bystanders but we eventually all made it to the car and after a short shopping trip we were able to drive over to the temple grounds to let the kids eat some ice cream cones (picked up at McDonald's on the way) and listen to conference.  We are glad to be closer to the temple!  I think we all felt a little better after that and had a fun afternoon at seven peaks to use our pass of all passes. Mini golf, climbing wall, arcade and go-karts were all pretty fun!

Since Utah is a gathering point for many of my friends due to family or other friends out this direction, I have had the pleasure of brief but amazing visits with a couple friends from Morgan Hill and one friend that I grew up with.  So fun to catch up with everyone!

During Spring break we had a staycation since Jared has no time off yet at work.  The kids and I did fun outings each day.  We bought a Thanksgiving Point pass and had fun trying out a different venue every day!  We went to the museum of natural curiosity with one set of cousins, the museum of Ancient History with another set of cousins, the girls had a spa morning, we met the Woolfords at the Bean Museum another day, went to the Farm and then ventured up to SLC to visit the temple grounds and kids church history museum with the Lillywhites and Hogans.  We were quite the sight trying to round up 9 kids and navigate our way through public transportation that we were not familiar with.  We had a ton of fun and the weather was amazing.  We all survived and didn't get very lost at all!

Our Spring break continued the next week as we had our good friends from MH come to Utah on their Spring break.  We also had a cousin Birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's.  We had the Evans over for a playdate, a quick stopover, met them at Hang Time and helped out with a baby shower for Jody, and went to seven peaks.  Of course we wish they could have stayed longer but it was so good to see them even for a couple days.
