So, due to my early baby bump I can no longer hide the fact that I'm pregnant with #3. I am due Halloween and we are excited! We've had a couple hiccups along the way and are just having faith that it will all work out in the end.
I was pretty sick at first and thought these ideas would sum it up. I know I am pregnant when...
-I eat a bowl of applesauce every morning just so I have something "easy" to throw up
-The only clean part of my house is the toilet seat because that actually gets wiped down every morning after I throw up on it
-I've had the same "to-do" list for 4+ weeks
-My 3 year old gets to watch the same video twice in one afternoon because I don't have enough energy to entertain her, make her turn it off, or switch videos
-I ask my husband to make me a tuna melt with a LOT of pickles on it
-My poor husband comes home several nights in a row to the same welcome: "Dinner isn't made again, here are the girls, I am going to go lay down"
-I call my mom and tell her I need back up IMMEDIATELY when my whole family comes down with colds. She saved my life by coming to cook, clean, take care of kids, etc. while I slept for a couple days!
-I call my in-laws before they come to visit and tell them they will be making their own meals and beds when they come because I don't have the energy! I said it (hopefully) nicer than this, and they were fabulous at not only making their meals and beds, but watching my girls and letting me rest! Thank goodness for family
-I am ready to go on tour advertising the nausea medicine my doctor finally gave me, even when a nap every day is not only needed, but critical for survival because it is a sleeping pill!
Jocelyn is thrilled for the upcoming baby and I heard her telling Lillian the other day "guess what Lilly, when you are this many (holding up 2 fingers) and I'm this many (holding up 4 fingers) mom is going to have a baby and then YOU will get to be a big sister just like me!" It was pretty darn cute. They also will come up to me randomly and ask to "pet" the baby in my tummy or Lillian will just start attacking my abdomen with kisses and say "hi baby". Jocelyn also remembers enough of what it means to have a baby because she asked me the other day "will the new baby eat off of those (pointing to my chest) when it's born?" To which I replied, I hope so! Isn't it wonderful to feel so appreciated?
As I mentioned before, we've had a couple little hiccups during all of this excitement...
We now owe more than double what we had previously been paying for our health insurance until open enrollment (one day after the baby is due) because of some incorrect processing in HR. Employees at Jared's work were not thrilled with the email informing them about this, and you can imagine our dismay since I was 5 weeks pregnant when we found out and cannot switch insurance without paying an arm and a leg or not even being allowed on to other insurance because of my "pre-existing" condition!
Our landlords are putting the property on the market mid May so we will probably be moving during the pregnancy, or shortly thereafter...What's a new baby without a move, right?
I had some funky tests at the doctor toward the beginning, which they followed up with a lot of blood tests and an ultra sound and everything seems to be on track, but we are just hoping and praying this is the case. Most of all, we are hoping for a healthy baby! Depending on the day, the girls will change whether they want a baby sister or baby brother. We shall see!

ReplyDeleteWow Cait, a third! Congratulations! I'm having not-so-pleasant dreams about being pregnant already with #2 (I'm not ready yet) but I do know I want three, so I will get there, right? =] I did love being pregnant and look forward to it again though. I'm so happy for your growing family, and your growing belly! Hope the rest of the pregnancy is smooth sailing!
ReplyDeleteOh cait. You have a lot of stressful things going on! Congrats on the new baby... I am so glad you have had family around to help you. I wish we were closer so your sweet girls could come play and I could give you a squeeze. I love you Caitlyn. Keep it up. Your such a good mom and I think every mom has had the "I will lay on the floor while I pretend to play" days... don't feel guilty. I hope all goes well. Keep me updated.

ReplyDeleteCongrats! How exciting to have a new baby coming. Sorry you aren't feeling well.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! Why can't we live closer to each other??? We could be pregnant together and our kids would match up perfectly in age. I'm so sorry you have felt so sick but so glad that you got the good drugs. I loved reading about your first trimester. I feel like you never know how yucky you feel until you are finally out of it.
