Yay for good friends!

On Monday we had an awesome last minute visit from my good friend Jessica that I grew up with.  She and her kids braved the trip and we are so grateful!  They were only visiting for 24 hours but we tried to make the most of it.  It ended up that both of our husbands were out of town so we stayed up late talking, and exhausted ourselves taking care of kids and making sure they had a fun day together.  Our kids match up almost exactly in age and gender so it's fun to see them play together.  Even Jonas tried to wrestle with her cute little Garrett :)
Jess and I have been friends since I was in 3rd grade so I scanned in some old pictures of us, with Breanne of course (akin to the 3 musketeers).  I am determined to return the favor of the visit since Breanne and Jess live near each other and Jessica has proved one can make it in the long car drive with 3 kiddos!

Our families even took vacations together. This is Jess and I at the top of the World Trade Center in 1999. A picture I treasure even more after 9/11
This is Jess and I right after we had our first babies.

Jocelyn was so thrilled when I went to pick her up early from school with Lillian and Jessica's little girl in tow.  She opened the door of her classroom and screamed with delight "Mom!! I didn't know my cousin would be here too!!" (meaning to pick her up from school).  She was well aware that they were coming and had been begging me all morning.  She and Addi have been besties since they were babies and it's cute to see them grow up.  I only wish we lived closer!  Kate & Lilly are old enough now to have formed a friendship of their own and it's so darn cute to see them all interact.  Here is our attempt at pictures at the end of the day.  Clearly, everyone was a little done by then...

  2. We are so happy we were able to come see you, even it was for such a short time. My girls were in heaven. I remember when we use to talk about what we wanted to name our kids and such when we were younger, who would have imagined we would have kids so closely in age and gender and that enjoy each other so much. What a blessing. I wished we lived closer too. You better start planning your trip to AZ.;)
