We had our last week of winter vacation so I decided to host a spa day for the girls and their friends. Jocelyn has been really wanting to have another get-together with her friends so I figured this would be a good excuse.
Both Lilly and Jocelyn were anxious to make a poster, put together the party favor bags, prepare the food and get everything set up. I knew I wouldn't be able to pull it off myself with the number of girls coming (around a dozen), so luckily I had some good friends helping out by bringing drinks & desserts, kids chairs, staying to assist during the party since their girls were there, watching Jonas for me during the gig, etc. Our inspiration was the Fancy Nancy book: Ooh la la! It's Beauty Day which we read during the party and it was pretty fun to see them all loving the pampering!
Everyone got a foot soak and a foot rub, a pedicure and a facial mask and we made each of them a silk flower clip for their hair, giving them little toiletries in their party favor bags. Here are a few pictures. It was a light luncheon and, of course, complete with a girl throwing up during the last 10 minutes after she had spent the entire 2 hours exposing everyone to the flu. You can't win them all! Jocelyn was a little dramatic and said "how horrible! it's ruined" after we cleaned up the mess and lysoled the house, and sanitized all the girls hands. I kept reminding Jocelyn to focus on how much fun they had and not dwell on the throw up incident, as I was apologizing to all the parents as they picked up their daughters. aye aye aye.

That throw up incident really made me laugh. Sounds like such a fun party! I might have to steal the idea. Jocelyn is so funny and dramatic, I love it.
ReplyDeleteAmen to Jessica's comment.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd love to copy the idea too! - So better yet, you should plan a trip out here (we'll spoil you rotten to make it worth it) - and we can throw a little spa day late-over for all of our girls!!
One day right? ....
